Evil Mind, The 1934 DVD Claude Rains

Maximus (Rains) is a "clairvoyant" with a third-rate mind reading act at a local music hall, which he performs with his wife Rene (Wray). One night, his eyes fix upon those of a strange woman in the audience, and he is seized by a true prophecy. The woman turns out to be the daughter of a powerful newspaper publisher who has an interest in Maximus' predictive abilities. When one after another of Maximus' predictions come true, fortune and recognition are his at last. But soon questions and suspicions being to arise. When Maximus makes a particularly ghastly prediction, causing fear and panic which apparently contribute to the disaster, he finds himself on trial for serious charges. Has Maximus merely predicted these events, or is he actually causing them to occur?
