Writer-director Guillermo del Toro's grim and beautiful fairy tale set in 1944 Spain is the uncanny story of young Ofelia (Ivana Baquero), brought to live on a military outpost run by her sadistic stepfather (Sergi Lopez), a captain in the Fascist army.
