In the future world of 1990, earth receives a transmission from advanced beings on a distant planet. The earthlings are told that emissaries will be arriving soon for an unprecedented interplanetary meeting of the minds. However, all that lands on earth is an automated device which contains an S.O.S. - the alien ship has crashed on Mars. Earth sends a rescue ship, and when the astronauts finally locate the alien craft, they find a lone survivor: a strange unspeaking woman with greenish skin. The rescuers take her back to their ship and begin their return to earth. The alien survivor watches the men with an eerie smile, and refuses to eat. Soon, the reasons behind her refusal of regular food - and her planet's interest in earth - become all too clear.

Writer/Director Curtis Harrington crafted this creepy sci-fi/horror tale to use a large amount of special effects footage from the Russian film Nebo Zovyot, which he intricately combined with new scenes featuring the English-speaking cast.
