RADIO RANCH (1940)
The legendary Gene Autry stars in Radio Ranch - a story which is equal parts singing cowboy western and science-fiction/fantasy. Autry performs daily broadcasts from the Ranch, a place which also hosts kids who wish to escape city life. Two such kids are out on the prairie one day, when they encounter a mysterious band of men on horseback, whom they dub "the Thunder Riders." Unbeknownst to the kids, the riders are from a subterranean city named Murania, nearly 20,000 feet below ground, which has existed for over 100,000 years! Enter a team of mining investors, interested in the land under the Ranch for its rich deposits of radium... and one scientist who believes in the lost city and wishes to uncover it's secrets. Autry must do battle with both the Muranians and the conniving mining team, all while never failing to perform his daily 2pm broadcast from Radio Ranch!
