The first and the greatest of all giant monsters, King Kong, is dramatically captured in this statue, inspired by the pre-production art for the classic 1933 film! This beautifully detailed, hand-painted, cold cast porcelain statue stands over 14" tall with base, weighs over 4 lbs. and depicts the monarch of Skull Island atop the Empire State Building's dome cap, with the beauty, Ann Darrow, in hand, a smashed biplane gripped in the other. The "Eighth Wonder of the World" was sculpted exclusively for the Merian C. Cooper Estate by artist Joe DeVito. Each statue is a limited edition with a special golden Kong icon drawn by Joe and stamped and individually numbered on the bottom of each base. Painted and ready for display. Comes in an attractive 18" x 12" x 9" full-color Kong retail-style box. A must for any collection! Originally fetched for over $200 when first released.
