This X-Wing Pilot Helmet comes from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. It's a faithful recreation of the iconic headgear that Luke Skywalker wore in the exciting Death Star trench run in the epic battle of Yavin! Utilizing digital scans of an original X-wing helmet in the Lucasfilm archive and an actual APH-6B helmet, as well as castings of an original visor and chin cup, eFX's engineers, model-makers, and artists painstakingly constructed the master patterns to produce this prop replica. The full-scale helmet replica is made of quality fiberglass, injection-molded plastic, and machined metal, with a fully padded interior and removable, real-leather ear cups. This beautiful reproduction is a limited edition of only 750 pieces worldwide that comes with a certificate of authenticity, eFX display base, and numbered plaque. The microphone is from a Racal Minilite headset. This is the same headset that Luke and Han wore when fighting the TIE fighters in their escape from the Death Star!

In Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Luke Skywalker was assigned the wing position of Red Five and flew his X-wing starfighter in the Battle of Yavin against the Empire's mightiest weapon, the dreaded Death Star. Using all his skills as a bush pilot in Beggar's Canyon on Tatooine, and with the Force now his ally, Luke maneuvered down the Death Star's trench, evading enemy fire and even Darth Vader, to deliver the final devastating blow and became an unlikely hero of the Rebellion.

The original helmet was made from an APH-6B Vietnam-era flight helmet used by the U.S. Navy, circa 1969. This helmet included the dual visor cover. A ridge was also added over the top, from front to back. The helmet was then cast in halves to make the master patterns, and the X-wing pilot helmets were vacuum formed from these patterns. Upon assembly, a strip of ABS was added to hide the parting line of the two halves.
