2001: A Space Odyssey Hal 9000 Test Bench 1/6 Scale Replica for (12" Executive Collection) Figures:

Academy award winning 2001: A Space Odyssey was the highest grossing North American film in 1968 due largely to its pioneering special effects, imagery, and relevant themes. The film follows Dr. Frank Poole (played by Gary Lockwood) and other astronauts on a Jupiter trip. Arguably one of the greatest and most influential films ever made, it set the viewing public’s imagination.

The HAL 9000 Test Bench, as seen in the Discovery XD-1 pod bay.

When HAL reports a malfunction in the AE-35 communications module, Dr. Dave Bowman removes the 'failing' unit and brings it into the pod bay for diagnosis. Dr. Bowman connects the AE-35 module to the test bench to analyze its circuitry with a hand-held probe. The Test Bench monitor screen displays the inner workings of the module, but mysteriously, no flaw can be found. It is at this moment that Dave Bowman and Frank Poole come to the frightening conclusion that HAL may not be as "incapable of error" as he claimed to be...
