”Willy Wonka is the eccentric candy factory owner with a darkly humorous edge, originally created by Roald Dahl in his book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Gene Wilder’s portrayal of Willy Wonka in the 1971 film is an enduring favorite performance spanning generations of fans. It was at Wilder’s insistence that Wonka’s first appearance be as a slowly limping, serious figure, who then tumbles and springs up with a smile, “because from that time on, no one will know if I’m lying or telling the truth.”
To capture the complex nature of Willy Wonka, a gentle genius with a decidedly dark sense of humor, Molecule8 ‘s creative team has been hard at work developing miniature versions of Wonka’s head, outfit and special movie-related accessories for fans to cherish. Wonka’s is a world of swirling wonders to behold, and we’ve honored that experience with a realistic miniature version of Willy Wonka, carefully researched and lovingly recreated in 1:6 scale.
To capture the complex nature of Willy Wonka, a gentle genius with a decidedly dark sense of humor, Molecule8 ‘s creative team decided that such a special character warranted more than one head sculpt. Master character sculptor Mike Hill set right to work to capture the essence of Wilder as Wonka, through two distinct expressions.
Our creative team carefully scrutinized the film to ensure maximum accuracy to every aspect.

• We create custom printed patterns to match the source material, and choose fabrics and materials that look and feel like miniaturized versions of real clothing.
• We include functioning pockets and real buttons, which mean the use of a specially designed buttoning tool for figure owners to change the outfits.
