Sealab was originally released in 1970 by Aurora and was never reissued after that. The 1/93 scale model was based on the short lived naval project involving deep sea diving, underwater salvage operations and other oceanographic studies.

The lit was heavily promoted on magazines and comic books in 1970, but was discontinued after the original release. Since that time, The Sealab kit has become very hard to find and highly collectible.
