First broadcast in 1981, The Harlem Globetrotters On Gilligan's Island was the third feature-length sequel to the hit TV series.

Outdoing all previous stories for sheer goofiness, the plot this time sees the famous basketball team ditching their plane in the ocean and, after fighting off sharks with basketballs, they arrive on Gilligan's island where a pair of nefarious villains (played by Martin Landau and Barbara Bain) are busy conning the castaways out of their stake in the holiday resort so that they can get their hands on a priceless ore that will make them filthy rich. Naturally this all leads to a sporting showdown between the Globetrotters and a team of basketball-playing robots (designed by the villains) and only Gilligan can save the day with a winning shot at the very last second.
